Color & Composition Gallery

Spring 2023 // Color & Composition

Color and Composition at Northeastern University breaks down the elements of art. Beginning with line and shape, the class began strictly in black and white. Not until the final project could color be included. Through this process, I learned the value of each element. Within my mathematical background, I perceive the elements of art as a carefully calculated formula to a well-composed artwork.

What defines me as an artist?

01

Color

Colors both present and evoke emotions in my work and the process in which I create. I am fascinated by color relationships and the way in which color interacts with the natural world

03

Multimedia

Exploring multimedia extends to both the mediums and surfaces on which I work. I enjoy incorporating recycled materials into my work and painting on unconventional items. Personal commissioned projects have included custom painted cornhole boards and insulated mugs. I like art with purpose.

02

Identity

I draw inspiration from my personal experiences. Recurring themes include navigating life with hearing loss, understanding the value in self-advocacy, and appreciating the community in which I grew up.

04

Perspective

As I reflect on my past work, I observe the patterns in which I have created and notice the things I would change now. I continuously gain these insights and incorporate them into my new work.
